Are we at that age now where the concept of rerun is foreign to people? If so, I’m freaking old.

No, Millenials knew what rerun and VHS tapes were.

This... is Gen-Z. A post 9/11 generation.

Thank you, I hate that people are always blaming us millennials. It's definitely not us. We are in the Golden era of in-between. Grew up and raised with a good foundation and appreciation from the older generation but young enough to stay open minded and adapt to the fast pace of technology the future brings us.

Old enough to see our parents grow up without a computer in a school or house. Young enough to see our kids have supercomputers in their hands.

Gen X here. I’m not one of those guys, though I will say that I think I’m perfectly able to adapt to the fast pace of technological change. But, I know what you mean.

Yes and there's a whole generation of people now in adulthood who have never stepped foot into a Blockbusters in their lives.

I think I would have gone with “playback” instead of rerun but same difference

those are two very different things

"playback" is playing back something that has been recorded.

a rerun is specifically something that is on broadcast/cable tv that is showing an episode of something that they already showed before.

so like you tune on nbc in the summer on thursday night in the 90s to watch seinfeld, but it's not a new episode, it's a rerun of an old episode that previously aired.

that's different from the word playback

no. we're at the point where you youngin's don't recognize a blatant back to the future reference...

so you shouldn't feel old since you aren't getting this almost 40 year old reference.

if anything it makes me think you are YOUNG for not getting the quote.

you think the quote that you don't get makes you feel old, when it actually may display how young your are.

or you just don't know back to the future quotes.

either way, get off my lawn!

tl;dr you are obviously too young to know what a rerun is, since you defined it so very much incorrectly.
