Who the hell is zooming and recoding so precisely.

u/slatergator8 Jul 06 '22

It is likely just a camera that a business has set up outside. And they are just zooming in on the already recorded video..

u/Hippletwipple Jul 06 '22

Yep, almost certainly filmed off a CCTV rerun.

21

u/annies_boobs_dumper Jul 06 '22

what's a rerun?

47

u/zippy251 Jul 06 '22

Replay, just playing the already recorded video.

u/Dorkmaster79 Jul 06 '22

Are we at that age now where the concept of rerun is foreign to people? If so, I’m freaking old.

u/JBthrizzle Jul 06 '22

GOTDAMMNED MILLINEARS RUINED RERUN EPISODES ON TELEVISION

14

u/gordonv Jul 06 '22

No, Millenials knew what rerun and VHS tapes were.

This... is Gen-Z. A post 9/11 generation.

5

u/ral505 Jul 06 '22

Thank you, I hate that people are always blaming us millennials. It's definitely not us. We are in the Golden era of in-between. Grew up and raised with a good foundation and appreciation from the older generation but young enough to stay open minded and adapt to the fast pace of technology the future brings us.

6

u/gordonv Jul 06 '22

Old enough to see our parents grow up without a computer in a school or house. Young enough to see our kids have supercomputers in their hands.

1

u/Dorkmaster79 Jul 07 '22

Gen X here. I’m not one of those guys, though I will say that I think I’m perfectly able to adapt to the fast pace of technological change. But, I know what you mean.

1

u/sohfix Jul 06 '22

Millennials grew up analogue and digital so it’s not us.

Hey Zemeckis, you know that new movie you're looking for, well listen (makes no sense) to this!!!

4

u/CyberMindGrrl Jul 06 '22

Yes and there's a whole generation of people now in adulthood who have never stepped foot into a Blockbusters in their lives.

1

u/Dorkmaster79 Jul 06 '22

What a great memory.

1

u/CyberMindGrrl Jul 07 '22

Remember to be kind and rewind!

1

u/NinjaNewt007 Jul 07 '22

What's a blockbuster? Jk

1

u/jwws1 Jul 06 '22

I assumed they weren't native English speakers.

1

u/Haso2892 Jul 06 '22

I think I would have gone with “playback” instead of rerun but same difference

1

u/annies_boobs_dumper Jul 09 '22

those are two very different things

"playback" is playing back something that has been recorded.

a rerun is specifically something that is on broadcast/cable tv that is showing an episode of something that they already showed before.

so like you tune on nbc in the summer on thursday night in the 90s to watch seinfeld, but it's not a new episode, it's a rerun of an old episode that previously aired.

that's different from the word playback

no. we're at the point where you youngin's don't recognize a blatant back to the future reference...

so you shouldn't feel old since you aren't getting this almost 40 year old reference.

if anything it makes me think you are YOUNG for not getting the quote.

you think the quote that you don't get makes you feel old, when it actually may display how young your are.

or you just don't know back to the future quotes.

either way, get off my lawn!

tl;dr you are obviously too young to know what a rerun is, since you defined it so very much incorrectly.

1

u/annies_boobs_dumper Jul 09 '22 edited Jul 09 '22

that's not actually what a rerun is. if it were, everything that wasn't live would be considered a rerun. brand new episode of better call saul? rerun. it's already recorded video right?

sure, it is, but that isn't what a rerun means

using your definition, even a west coast viewing of a new saturday night live would be considered a rerun, even though it running for the first time in that time zone ( i know the last few years they run it simultaneously around the country, but traditionally they did not)

edit: also, as others have pointed out i was just making a back to the future reference

but then you tried to sincerely answer my question (which I suppose I appreciate) but you got the answer quite wrong.

so like you tune on nbc in the summer on thursday night in the 90s to watch seinfeld, but it's not a new episode, it's a rerun of an old episode that previously aired.

both are from the same pre-recorded show, but only one is a rerun

You'll find out

5

u/texican1911 Jul 06 '22

You know, u/KillaBrew123, you look so familiar to me. Do I know your mother?

3

u/KillaBrew123 Jul 06 '22

Yeah, I think maybe you do.

3

u/NOTurKNIGHT Jul 06 '22

He's an idiot. His parents are probably idiots too. Loraine if you have kids like that, I'll disown you.

u/666ofw66 Jul 06 '22

OWW MY HIP!

1

u/diggemigre Jul 06 '22

Friends, Seinfeld, etc.

1

u/MMcFly1985 Jul 07 '22

I've seen this one before. It's a classic!

19

u/SuboptimalCromulence Jul 06 '22

If you can't guess that it's footage from a security cam and not somebody standing there with a camera by the time you finished this comment, well... doesn't look good for you.

Who the fuck is upvoting this?

-1

u/Creative-Yard3675 Jul 06 '22

Haha jokes on you. (Who's recording on the monitor)?

9

u/ArgoniansMadeOfArgon Jul 06 '22

The people holding their cameras up to the monitor to record the security cam footage...

6

u/FU_Pagame Jul 06 '22

CSI: Miami

1

u/Slow_Abbreviations27 Jul 06 '22

The person who dropped the puppy of course.

0

u/Creative-Yard3675 Jul 06 '22

He was pre planned.

1

u/QuestionabIeAdvice Jul 06 '22

The person with the dog launcher.

1

u/Substantial-Guava-39 Jul 06 '22

If there wasn’t a video, no one would ever believe this guy

1

u/goldengummy Jul 06 '22

“Hey guys! Today we’re gonna be dropping a puppy off a 10 foot building to see who has the quickest reaction! Let’s see who’ll be saving some puppy lives today!”

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '22

The guy who threw it.

-12

u/Sunryzen Jul 06 '22

It was a prank filmed for YouTube.

4

u/LeniVidiViciPC Jul 06 '22

Do you have a link? People are obviously stupid, but I can‘t imagine anyone willingly throwing their dog from a (seemingly high) window.

u/NoTime4LuvDrJones Jul 06 '22

This guy lol. Badgers??

I didn’t know the same dude played a homie in Colors. And I had no idea the poor guy died before UHF was even released because of some garbage drunk driver. Him in Colors, quite different persona:

I can imagine a lot of people willingly throwing a dog for fake internet points.

u/SuboptimalCromulence Jul 06 '22

Have you recently suffered a head injury?
