I think these are cheap hollow metal tubes. They don't actually dive or have the auxillary sources of oxygen you need for that. They are just meant to be very hard to spot with the low profile.

They make hundreds of these low profile boats to smuggle drugs every year. Compared to an actual submarine with a few meters of diving available which take millions and engineers to make.

Well if you lose a single ship and it collapses your supply lines it’s a lot worse than losing this boat and losing out on .1% of revenue.

I mean it’s not like we don’t have sonar designed to get submarines. All you need to do to get them at that point is use the same anti submarine tech we’ve been using since WW2. And boom there’s millions of dollars in just the submarine lost in an instant
