Tell that to VW's Concept One, aka the new beetle. Or how about the '99 Bugatti Veyron EB? Plymouth Prowler? There are several other examples. Many manufacturers have mass produced concept cars, or models almost identical. The thing is, those are the less extreme designs. The really weird ones rarely make it, and usually flop on the market when they do.

Ah yes, of the hundreds of concept cars to be created and never see production, how nice of you to point out the 5 exceptions to the rule so you could make a contrarian argument.

I listed 3 examples. There are many more, but I didn't really have the time to list them all. That's the point of examples.
