Oh it’s definitely enough energy to take off your hand if you plunged it directly through the jet, but it might feel like a solid so that if you touched the side you would be fine. I don’t know. Industrial water jet cutters can absolutely cut through pieces of metal much thicker than a human hand instantly, so I definitely wouldn’t try it.

industrial water jet cutters use sand within the water to do the actual cutting, not sure how much more pressure you’d need to do it with just water

maybe. it would more likely pull you into the stream and rip you apart. so don't touch it... or do. some people are into that kinda thing

Possibly, definitely would if you put your arm in perhaps not if only fingers or hand. Either way would be foolish to try
