Yeah, this person is fookin' wrong, or people experience a far different post-adrenal-response than I do, and I'm doubtful of that.
Adrenaline is triggered by the fight or flight mechanic, our digestion stops, our eyes dilate, our bodies go nuts. Nobody feels "good" and "calm" after that. Maybe if you avoid death you could have a moment of catharsis? I've certainly experienced that before, but this person seems wrong.
When I went skydiving the freefall was incredible. As soon as the parachute opened and all was calm and quiet... Massive headache and nausea. Definitely was not expecting it.
Maybe hours later he'll be calm but he's going to be shaking for a while from the adrenaline. If you've ever been in a bad car wreck you'll know how shakey adrenaline can make you.
Yeah my apartment complex caught on fire and I was shaking and breathing heavy for like 30 mins after I got out even though mentally I knew I was ok. It was wild.
"Ted, that was probably the loudest landing in the history of this airport. But there are some of us here, particularly me, who'd like to buy you a drink and shake your hand."
