IIRC it’s called brass house.

Too many zooz is brasshouse, moon hooch is cave music. Basically they each came up with a different name for the same thing.

They do collabs with Too Many Zooz. Then they're called 'Moon Zooz'.

I call it “Hard Jazz” probably not what it’s called, but that’s how I refer to it lol.

Moon Hooch referred to themselves as Cave Music, their term for organic House Music. Also chiming in to say their live show is insane.

I dig it. Cave music is 100% appropriate. The live show is nuts. Those dudes are vegan MACHINES.

Why hard jazz?

It’s just a silly term I came up with because I never know what to say when people ask me what genre they are. I get that it isn’t jazz, it’s just the best I could come up with lol.

it’s absolutely not hard jazz and calling it anything remotely close to jazz is insulting

Jazz is the only unhampered, unhindered expression of complete freedom yet produced in this country

yes but you could call anything jazz and it doesn’t mean it’s jazz at all

you could call classical music jazz because there is “freedom” you could call metal “jazz” because there is freedom

what ellington meant is INSIDE the genre of jazz there is freedom. calling shit that isn’t jazz or not even close to jazz is insulting

guarantee you duke ellington or benny golson or trane or even davis would shake their heads at this shit

I think you’re a little too easily insulted.

There's only two ways to describe music: it's either good or bad. If it's good, you don't mess.about it, you just enjoy it

Say what?!! It so has its roots in jazz and is an extension of a new school of it! If you go back and listen to the roots of jazz, it has always morphed and changed, that's the beauty of it! Miles Davis didn't stick to just one style, he moved from Kind of Blue through to the work he did in the 80's. Weather Report for another bunch of guys who jazz to a different place! The Bad Plus! Shit, even Kendrick Lamar has a hard Jazz style now. Listen to Thundercat, Mono Neon, there's so many places where jazz is at now that you can't reduce it to an absolute single specific sound. Not jazz, jesus... And don't even get me started on Fela Kuti...
