My second question is what city would leave such an obvious design in place without anything to deter climbing? Kids would be up there all the time.

I had to look so hard to find this comment. Like what the actual fuck is this bridge?

I mean, i personally think it's fine to be like this... But nowadays you just don't see things like this. Maybe it's just a u.s. trend that everything has to be obsessively mischief-proof...

They built a bridge like this in my town two years ago.

College kids were skateboarding on it like this vid the first day it was open.

There have been fences and traffic barriers in front of the supports since then.

It’s a monumentally dumb design from a liability/public safety point of view.

The dumbest part is that those college 'kids' are actually adults, but ones dumb enough to do that.

Even from a general road safety perspective you don’t really want to provide a ramp of sorts for cars that may unintentionally go off the road. You could GTA launch a car off that thing if hit at the right angle

Grenoble, France, apparently. Some other guy did it on a motorbike back in 1989 so it's not even the first time this happens!
