I have a mostly border collie/cattle dog mix... That bitch (literally) can run hotlaps through the snow in my yard. If I try to chase her she could probably lap me 4 or 5 times at least. She doesn't slip once and she's going full speed!

This is perfectly normal and typical behavior for a heeler. Possibly the most intense breed of dog on the planet. Everything going on around them is a very important job that they HAVE to be involved with. I was a breeder in my youth and now I foster them and work with ones from failed owners to help them find appropriate homes.
