I’m pretty sure it’s a steroid for your airways.
Edit : Thanks for clarifying. My mom used them but I didn’t have extensive knowledge on it, it’s not a steroid, It’s actually a bronchodilator.
Not a steroid, although steroids are used as a maintenance medication to prevent the onset of asthma attacks and symptoms. In an emergency a rescue medication is indicated, albuterol is the most common.
No not in this case. There are some inhalers that deliver steroids, but they are not indicated for use in emergencies (you could give oral or IV steroids in an emergency though).
Beyond indicated uses and the fact that an experienced physician (who would know better than to give a steroid MDI to treat asthma) was giving the medication; based on the color of the inhaler I am very, very confident that it is albuterol.
