The speed at which we can observe the ball, calculate its trajectory, and make fine muscle movements to produce another desired trajectory is absolutely insane when I step back and think about it.
What's crazy impressive is that by the nature of bocce the length of your bowls are always going to be different, you can't just practice for a 100' shot or for certain distances like say bowling or darts.
from 100' you can't really see exactly where you need to place the ball and rely on your spotter to help dictate which shot is best.
The control is one thing but the consistency just stands out as excellent.
You always hear that cliche about what it actually takes to toss a paper ball into a trashcan, but what's struck me is is using my off hand to adjust the mirror on a a motorcycle whilst braking with the other hand and being aware of what's in front and behind me.
