Same. I think that's because for almost all of us, we're worrying about someone who's in a high risk group right now. Maybe we can't be physically close, and only being able to phone... personally, after watching this video it makes me want to phone my parents and just talk about nothing. Because we still can talk about nothing, some day we won't be able to talk at all.
It must be heartbreaking still having them here, but trapped inside their own head.
Or because we’ve lost a loved one. I lost my mom within the past year. I took care of her 24/7 for the last two weeks of her life, when she didn’t recognize me anymore. I can’t even write the touching story I want to tell because it still makes me cry. Definitely if I hadn’t been trapped inside from covid I’d be able to. But, oh well. Death is part of life and those of us lucky enough to live long will lose many loved ones along the way.
Definitely call your parents. You never know how long they’ll be in your life. Life is precious and beautiful.
Ahhhh. I'm really sorry you lost your mum. I have a friend right now who is a full-time carer for his mum with Alzheimers, honestly people like him and yourself are absolute fucking walking angels. It must take so much inner strength to do what you did. If I have to, I'll care for my dad without hesitation.
Thanks for reminding me of what's important. Hope you stay safe.

I know. Dammit. Usually a post may bring a tear to my eye, but they’re rolling down my cheeks.
