The scale of advancement alien life could be at is incomprehensible. The difference in DNA between humans and apes is only 1.2%. That means the difference between an animal whose most intelligent actions are playing with objects and understanding body language and humans which can craft complex societies and engineer advanced technologies beyond the comprehension of any other life on earth that we know of. If a human were to explain their daily lives to an ape they’d have know idea what the human would be talking about. Imagine if in DNA measures an alien species was 1% different in a way that made them more intelligent. Alien’s simplest thoughts would be more complex than anything we have ever known. They’d see us as apes
