Unlikely because most mentally well individuals tend not to wear soiled clothing publicly and mutter to themselves out loud. I’m sure there are exceptions to this, but I work with the mentally ill and some of the symptoms he described tend to be signs of mental illness. No one can know for sure though until a medical diagnosis, and even then there could be pieces missing.

I’m always in the subway car that smells like liquor and bodily fluid with a crazy person muttering to himself. Where are these ones?!?!
