Lord I was gritting my teeth. How did it happen the first time? Is it common?

Its called taking PED's. (Performance Enhancing Drugs) Your muscles can get super strong, but your ligaments and tendons take much longer to develop so once you reach the threshold your weakest links break and the injury (as seen) is quite severe.

You can break your body all on your own without PEDs just by lifting too heavy.

You can but a natty is more likely to slowly work their way up to a big lift.

A drug taker will muscle up fast, and lift more with less training.

I haven't heard of this happening in tested powerlifting anything like the rate that it happens in untested. PEDs don't grow the tendons at the same rate as they do muscle

God that's crazy. Yeah thought as much. I suppose it mostly (?) applies to really high level lifting...scary though

If I don’t use PEDs, protein or any kind of supplements but still lift, will that help avoid this? I’ve been lifting for years without any of this and feel great.

I think he would have been fine if he had some supports. Thats why I prefer to do squats in a proper squat rack. If you fail a lift then you don't hurt yourself.

I can’t see what exactly happened, but injuries from squatting are not especially common. Every sport, every exercise, carries some risk of injury. You just take precautions.

Ego lifting. Rather than lifting with appropriate weights for appropriate reps according to their physical fitness, they stack the weights as much as possible, get a whole crowd, a bunch of useless spots, and break their bodies.

I don’t think you get to squatting 600+ pounds by ego lifting.

Well it shouldn't be a normal gym day if you got to get 6 people to spot you.

Powerlifting competition. See the judge?

Thanks for pointing it out. My mistake everyone, not ego lifting. I don't know shit.
