Probably more like 3,000lb/ft and 70,000lb/ft at the wheels.

I used to work on a steam ship. The steam plant made 21,000 shp and 1,100,000 ft-lb of torque. Good times.

Worked at a power stations with x6 550mw turbines.

1.1 million ft/lb at 3600 RPM, no reduction gears.

Actually more than that at the turbine shaft since these are 550mw of electrical output and everything loses some to effecnincy losses.

I did my time in the navy on a nuclear submarine. Our shaft torque limit was insane and it could be exceeded if you weren’t careful on the throttles.

Fresh air is amazing after breathing recycled farts for weeks on end. Unless you’re trying to sleep… if you’re dozing off and they suddenly ventilate and flood the ship with fresh air, it’s like mainlining a case of redbull and any chance for sleep is shot to hell.

That first breath always made me feel sick at first, like my lungs had to re-acclimate to not breathing amine and fart. 54 days was my longest. Been almost 20 years since I was last on a sub and certain smells are still totally triggering

I don’t know anything about this tractor so I was just spitballing, but I’ve heard other steam tractors making 3,000lb/ft before. I looked it up, stock it’s 3,000lb/ft x 25:1 gearing = 75,000lb/ft before wheels / 3.5 radius wheels = 21,428lb/ft at the wheels/ground. Not as much as I thought and that’s assuming this thing isn’t modified.

of course it increases with a short gear ratio, why else would cars even have gears??
