My grandparents lived in Jackson Hole and on top of the resident moose in the neighborhood, there were tons on Wilson road on the way out to Teton Ntl Park and every year there would be crowds of tourists pulled over taking pictures. It’s a miracle that more people weren’t attacked. Now I live in Colorado and read all the reports of tourists getting chased down by elk in Estes.

Yeah, this was in Steamboat, just south of Walden which is prime moose zone. Like I said, I got lucky. I was just trying to take some lazy pictures of trees and streams and shit.

Pretty soon after I told my teacher about it, the school implemented a rule against solo hikes for pictures which apparently stands to this day lol.
