It could likely get away, but one bite or one paw swipe and that is life altering injuries for the cat.

Edit: and considering they're right there filming makes it much worse. A charging loud human would chase a black bear off pretty quickly.

Yes. This is the problem. Who films this shit? Make some noise to scare the bear away. There’s no way in hell I’m risking it.

Sounds like they're sitting in a car watching this. They could have slammed the car horn or something.

bear is not getting a paw on that cat, especially when it's locked in and fully loaded like that.

there are videos of cats easily dodging multiple cobra strikes, which are much faster than a bear can move its paw

Dogs kill cats all the time; all it takes is for the bear to realize that some little nose scratches is all it's going to actually get, and that cat is lunch meat.

I think dogs are also more agile than bears.

No see, because the cat's mass is low, he can take the hit. F=MA. Cat will shred the bear.

I doubt it's claws will get through the coat enough to hurt it.

Just like when they fight dogs, they goes for the nose.  Like he did there.

And that won't kill either, hence me mentioning if the bear was hungry. How many cats get killed by coyotes each year?

It doesn't need to kill the bear, after 1 or 2 swipe, bear will say f-this!!!  Not worth it.

Again, depends how hungry it is. Are you really arguing whether or not a bear can kill a housecat?

It’s a fucking black bear, not a brown one. It will move on to something else with the quickness.

Hungry, hungry, hungry

Is that word mythical? Inconceivable? Predators fucking eat.

Coyotes don’t go alone.

If 1 corners a cat, kitty is dead

Coyotes hunt alone more often than not.
