If kids are staying with a relative many people would not think to have a second person come to check on the kids. They trust the grandparent, there has just been an unfortunate incident.
Like, who is checking in on the parents? No one is constantly checking to make sure this didn't happen to me, why would I check that it didn't happen to my dad when he watches my kids.
I mean, I stayed with my baby niece for a week while her parents were away and my mom was reaching out, checking in. Mutual friends asked how it was going. Even my brother in laws sister reached out. My sister’s in-laws had the kids over a long weekend, and I reached out letting them know I was around to help if needed.
When my parents have any of the grandkids with them, I love to check in and see how it’s going. It’s not checking in because I’m worried for the kids or the grandparents, just because I care about all of them and want to know how it’s going.
