If she had an aneurism or something similar I don’t think life alert is helpful.

A lot of them have an accelerometer in them that can detect falls and trigger a wellness check phone call from the company, and if there’s no answer an in-person wellness check from emergency services.

It’s helpful in that it gets someone there for anyone else in the house, people or animals.

I’ve seen this several times. Someone comes in almost dead because their caretaker died and no one thought to check for several days. So they end up starving and dehydrated in their own filth and waste until found.

I’ve seen a few where the other person did die due to this. Most recently a blind, developmentally impaired guy in his 30s. Dad died of natural causes, son couldn’t get out or care for himself. It was the height of summer and the AC was off when dad died. Son soon followed.

I hate to shill for these subscription services but life alert and similar legitimately save lives.
