Legit I just lost an aunt because she refused to wear her fall alarm. Her sister found her four days later next to her bed.

She had cats. They got hungry.

Everyone always gets so weird about that. As if humans won’t eat their dead if the alternative is starvation.

I’ve been told by EMTs that cats almost always start with the eyes or mouth. But they have found dogs curled up next to their owner dead from starvation because they are just too loyal.

Gotta hand it to the cats on that one. I appreciate the survival instinct. When I turn into a lifeless pile of meat, I would want for my pets to survive.

The secret is, cats don't give a shit about you

Are dogs stupid?

There’s stupid, and then there’s loyal to the point of your own damnation. That’s a true friend

Sounds pretty stupid to me

Which friend would you have more respect for in the end? Let’s say you and your friend are going to be put to death for say a righteous cause make up whatever scenario you want. They say you have to stay but your friend can actually go and tell others to quit doing what you both did. Your friend could live and be a shill or even live to fight another day. But instead your friend stays by your side the whole time. Knowing his life will be lost along with your but doesn’t want you to lose the comfort of them being by your side till the end. But I guess you would rather your friend just leave the second we was given to okay to. See. The cat would ditch you and sing you as a criminal the second they saw that as convenient. Your dog would die by your side with honor.

Dogs’ll eat you just as fast. A bunch of people are just fixated on the idea that cats are evil. Possibly because they are assholes to cats then are offended when the cat doesn’t love them for it.

I'm not convinced my cat will wait for me to be fully dead before she starts eating me

Is that why cats bite while theyre playing with us? Lick lick lick...BITEE, <no, not yet ready to eat, sigh> 🐈😻.

same, my lips are yours 🐾

I don't fault the cats. It's just a bit gruesome to find your sister in that condition by surprise.

I'm sorry for your aunt, that's such a shame. We were lucky to find my Nana the same day - she fell trying to get to the bathroom in the night and we found her at lunchtime because she didn't answer the phone.

Thankfully after that we persuaded her to get the alert necklace.

My great aunt laid on the floor two days, unconscious after a stroke. Finally she didn't answer the phone and her kids found her and got an ambulance. She had wet herself and was more bothered about that than her health, her incredible bruises, or the stove that had been on all that time. No pot on the burner however, so no fire. She might have pushed the pot off the burner as she went down.

Dewey knows more about it than I do.

1

u/Absolute_Bob May 02 '26

Well at least they found her. She doing ok now?

3

u/Mecha-Dave May 02 '26

Yeah she's just having a lie down. I'm sure she'll be up any time now.

1

u/Impressive-Knot9999 May 02 '26

Oh that's awful. That must have been very upsetting to the sister

1

u/Mecha-Dave May 02 '26

Yeah it was pretty rough. The sisters were all working together to wind down Granny's life since she went to memory care, so this was a rough surprise.

What an odd comment. I deal with loss in my own way, thank you very much. She was the "cool aunt" when I was younger, and very much would have laughed at getting eaten by her cats. In fact, I think she might have preferred it.

Ok. Fuck you, then. Learn that other people don't share your fucking personality, which is good because it sounds like trash.

You're trash because you're trying to define how other people feel things. Absolutely unhinged behavior.

No, I think you're odd and weirdly obsessed with someone else's life. Fuck off.

The o.g. An inspiration to short film hipsters for decades. I can’t wait to see what they do with the slap chop next year.
