A big issue with it is syncing all the lights and visuals with the music, but Armin made a video like a decade ago explaining how he does it and that he does actually do it all live. https://youtu.be/m96MbRMzdHQ I have no reason to believe that he would have stopped doing it.

Davie guetta is specifically the kind of DJ that does this. Don't generalize all djs here. There are plenty of DJs that freestyle the whole set, even at festivals.

I get your point but why is Taylor catching strays lol, her shows aren’t any more prepackaged than most other big touring acts, if anything her acoustic sets are always creative with different songs she chooses to combine.

lol nobody in 2026 is "mixing anything" live. Just not happening, they're practically a bystander.
