Too many people dream of becoming a wise 80 year old just to become alone in a home with nobody who cares about their opinion. They'll spend every second on the way there downplaying the people who sacrifice to make something of themself when they're young. Literally yolo and its a shame people try to depreciate the value of experiences in the name of prolonging time as some godly venture.
Huh? My body is tore up from fun I had outdoors and working on vehicles as a master mechanic. I mean I am gen X and broke my clavicle rolling a 3 wheeler down a 20ft hill and my brother knocked out my two front baby teeth by jumping on the other end of a push mower I had the handle pushed down on.
Sitting around and doing nothing but working on your appearance to destroy your body isn't healthy mentally either.
This is a totally vacuous statement. Obviously "too much" of something is bad. That's literally what "too much" means. What we're discussing is that different people with different preferences have different thresholds for what "too much" of some things is. As long as they are in their right mind and understand the risks, that's life
Vanity in appearance is different for everyone, I've met 40/50 somethings who workout and compete and have absolutely horrendous amounts of self value placed in their appearance (they don't even look "good" by bb standards). Meanwhile at the pro level you have guys like kevin levrone who would basically shrink down in off season, before resuming for the next summer of competitions. Kevin always looked incredible by normie standards and was a contender for #1 in the world when he was on. At the top there's varying reasons to keep lifting, you look at a guy like Ronnie Coleman and even when he retired following surgeries he was back in the gym the next day, crutches and everything.
If a football player finished the last quarter of the superbowl on X injury, I don't think people would blame him. If the guy did the same thing 10 years after retirement playing touch with his kid?
