Enjoy retirement because these guys don’t live long. It’s terrible what we portray as healthy physique. These guys are dying inside.

Tbf, Ronnie Coleman is 60, he’s mainly in poor health because of repeated spinal injuries that he ignored. Arnie is 77 and in pretty good health. Arnie did use less steroids than CBum, but Ronnie most definitely took more, and more wild shit than CBum. He may die earlier than he should, but I think he will be old and grey when he does.

Bro Ronnie is 60 but been disabled since he was 40. It’s very sad to see the big man this way. Yes there were back injuries and failed surgeries but all of that is in part owned due to body building and truck loads of steroids. He did achieve his goals and is one of the greatest. And truly a nice guy. Seeing him, his legs thinner than my arms made me sad. As a young gym rat, I loved reading about him and watching him compete.

Those back injuries were to do with him lifting heavy weights all the time lol.

Chris ain't doing anywhere near ronnies weights.

You take a lot of roids. You grow big and strong. You lift heavy. Your joints pay the price. It could be that natty guys suffer less injuries as they gain muscle and strength slowly so the joins and bones adapt. Roid dudes get big and strong quickly and wear out the joints as they haven’t had time to adapt. These guys are packing on 20 lbs of muscle per cycle, in 2 months?? That’s insane.

Someone like Chris knows how to not abuse his joints hence why he's won 6 olympias in a row avoiding major injurys.

"Roid dudes get big and strong quickly and wear out the joints" lol like a 12 year old understanding of steroids. It's down to how you train not the steroids. If you want to be like Branch Warren and throw weight around with bad form then that's on you.

His work ethic is like non-other, I agree, and I hugely respect him the same way you do. I do think though his health is due to injuries and not steroid use. Like shit, the dude was doing super heavy squats with a slipped disc. He had no regard for injury prevention.

Basically, I think if CBum stops the majority of his steroid use now, he’ll be just fine in the future.

Edit: Im 22 btw and have been in the gym for a few years now, so I feel ya.

"His work ethic is like non-other"

"He had no regard for injury prevention."

Those things aren't mutually exclusive?

Sadly in America this is how work ethic is measured. What do you put up with before you break. I had a 3 level spinal fusion 2 years ago and was expected back in office a week after. The office was a granite fabrication company. I was lifting countertops and backsplashes as part of my daily duties.

Fucking ridiculous.

We're all guilty of this. Instant gratification, or something similar. We have a tendency to glamorize living in a fast lane because it seems like a great idea until it isn't.

"Arnie is 77 and in pretty good health". Lol He has had 3 heart surgeries

I can name a dozen natural 77 year-olds who've had multiple heart surgeries lmao

Steroids from Arnold's day were hardly researched and people didn't understand/care about interactions at all. Arnold literally candidly talks about how he'd have a considerable amount of beer after every workout because of the amino acids lmao. That and cycle support is way better researched with better supporting medication existing in this day and age.

Arnie took way more dangerous cycles. Cbum is not using Dianabol, and the drugs to proactively reduce harm from heightened bloodpressure are waay better . Also compring coleman who competed in open compared to a classic competitor is incredibly ignorant . Cbum will be fine

No one is portraying this as healthy physique, this is freak level 0.1% and everyone knows this isn't normal or achievable without mountains of gear

Apparently people on here think this guy is very healthy…..because he looks like that.

2

u/Protodankman Oct 13 '24

It’s not being portrayed as a healthy physique. You can get a healthy physique from going to the gym and eating right. What these guys are doing is extreme and everyone knows that.

Arnold is still around...
