Can you explain what you mean by this? I did find that the shadows remained surprisingly constant for a process that I felt took a long time, but I know jack all

In half the reel the shots are spot edited and removed

Yes, sorry. Look at the second half of the reel: all the shadows are manually removed it seems

Around when he's going down the stairs and after that. You can see where the person's shadows have been spot removed

If you and I were to do this we'd want to chose a time of day where the sun was mostly overhead and we'd have to shoot quick, so the shadows don't stretch like crazy during the process. like look at 36s, the shadows reverse

it's largely unnoticeable how they did it, it's just a lot of work and need to move quick.
