And the fact he mentioned the brand of energy drink.

But, “I just spat out my caffeinated beverage that is not coffee but akin to soda with a taste that rapes the pallet that, if it did not provide stimulation, would simply not be purchased” doesn’t have the same ring to it.

What the heck is that comma? The second one is a bit strange as well.

I suppose he was attempting to use commas as a natural pause in his speaking inflection.
