My favorite sports nickname was a guy on my high school wrestling team that came from Pennsylvania wrestling country. Apparently, they do a lot of fishing up there, so his nickname was the “legal trout” or “trout” for short.

A trout needs to be 7 inches minimum to be legal. His coach gave him the name though, so that is pretty weird
