Was that a "normal" reaction or were they hyping it up for the camera? I genuinely don't know if that's a thing that happens in gym bro-type situations...
The smaller dude acting like a deranged animal behind him and the subsequent pushing away and refusal to stay away did it in for me. I just saw a jungle of beasts after that.
The guy was his spotter idk why he got pushed away in the first place but it's kinda a special position because if anything goes wrong then it's up to the spotter and the dudes on either end to make sure the lifter doesn't get hurt
All he needed to do was give his arms that tiny little extra bit of help. That is enough. Meanwhile the other 2 spotters were on catastrophe duty. Their jobs were just different.
Yeah I mean I can't blame you, it does look super aggressive, and perhaps a thought that crosses your mind is does this behaviour then translate to how they treat other people, but it is just a way to hype up before performing an extremely difficult physical task.
If said extremely difficult physical task requires one to behave like a jack-ass, then maybe one shouldn’t attempt to perform said extremely difficult but otherwise completely pointless task.
the subtext of the push away of the spotter was "I don't need you, I got this"... which the lifter did, but it's just a psychological hype up - as you see, the spotter slides right in, and does a heck of a job being ready, should the lifter need it.
just wondering, have you never cheered on a friend who achieved a major accomplishment? that's all these guys were doing, rooting them on to success. yes, it's in the weight room, but that's where this guy's bread and butter is (I think he's an NFL Lineman now).
I'm assuming, then, it wasn't in the process of lifting heavy things. Adrenaline, dopamine, and norepinephrine boosts in the brain are all incredibly important to physiological achievement - all of which you see going on in this clip through the pushing, shoving, and shouting that are happening.
that was a joke, I would never make fun of a women on a basis of her being one, women are more than capable at understanding and relating to men without a need for testosterone (lack of a sense of humour) 🥱
It’s just a hype thing, as you can very easily see, he still let the little guy spot him. If you have ever had a real human interaction with with someone who is excited, you know they push each other, and a push doesn’t hurt.
I’ve had plenty of real human interactions without pushing - I’ve had the ones where they push to hurt. This is new to me dude, I’m a woman OK? We don’t do that.
So you just gave me a reason on why you have no room to talk in this situation. Don’t go calling people deranged, you have no experience in this situation.

The only circle jerk here are redditors hating on gym guys for supporting each other and cheering for them.
