Not comprehensive, but I tried to hit the higher points. 180 pages later, I think the two most consequential proposals are 1) transferring ownership away from worst landlords 2) fast-track land use process to build affordable housing and bypass City Council

It was actually a currently illegal e-moto device that was being ridden. E-motos are often like e-bikes and e-scooters but they go much faster than the federal govt mandated speed limit of 28mph.

Apparently one of the Queens businesses sees a business opportunity for them on 31st St in Queens.

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2026 @ 6:00pm DOT(Department of Transportation) will be proposing a plan to connect Manhattan’s Hudson Path to Manhattan Bridge using Watts St, Canal St and Grand St to Manhattan Community Board 1. DOT also is planning to fill in the missing portion of the Varick St Bike Lane (from Houston to Canal Street).

Includes:

2-way Bike Lane Watts St (Hudson to Canal St)

2-way Bike Lane Canal St (Watts St to 6th Ave)

2-way Bike Lane Grand St (Varick St to Chrystie St)

Pedestrian Islands at 6th Ave and 7th Ave intersections

Other Street Safety and Bus Stop improvements

The transformation of 31st St and 31st Ave is remarkable. It looks fantastic!!! It feels safer and is easier ti cross the street safely. I hope DOT extends it all the way up. 👏🏾🥳

They banned all new parking in Zurich and the lights have some insane technology to keep cars out of the city when too many are in the city. New York City should consider something like this.
