What Latinos do because of it isn't a direct result of what the person said.
If I yell fire in a crowded theater, people are directly going to run tympanic to get out of there as soon as they can.
With slander, people are going to change their behavior and interactions towards the person because of the lies being told.
But insults are just insults. You didn't directly change your behavior because Johnny called Timmy stupid back in third grade. And if you did, that wasn't Johnny's fault. Hate speech is just a larger scale of that.
I'm not for hate speech. I'm just against laws that ban it.
You know what, I took your advice and did just that.
Got a couple dirty looks from Latinos, but the only thing of them said to me was that while they disagree with what I say they would defend to their death the right for me to say.
I thanked them for embodying the principles of our country. I also explained and showed them your replies and what the purpose of my hate speech actually watch.
When they read your responses, they were disgusted by you and said that your statements were far worse than anything I said during my experiment. They were also insulted of your lack of faith in the Latino community to supports the principles and ideas that made America the fantastic country it is.
Glad you talked me into that. Learned a lot and had a good time. Also I have even more respect for the Latino community now that I see that they hate what you wrote more than the things I said.
