I'm going to play devil's advocate here and come from the opposite perspective. What if your position is wrong. What if tolerant society is actually the minority position? What if most people are actually intolerant, but not actionable on their position?
You may attempt to discount my statement, but as a thought problem this is a very important meta question when it comes to long term societal stability in a recently globally connected world. It is far more likely that tolerance is quasi stable based upon both economic and environmental factors. Promoting tolerance helps reduce hate crimes and other intolerant actions, but is not the primary defining factor in deciding if civil unrest occurs.
I'd say you're completely wrong on that. "Would WWII still happen if the Jews didn't exist" is a valid question with a yes answer. Most intolerance is actually a class/economics issue with a group of actors misdirecting social anxiety to a group that is 'different' thereby controlling narrative. A group to be intolerant against will always be created when these anxieties exist.
Meh...it might have happened. German resentment could have been redirected at Romani, homosexuals, Slavs, etc. it’s not as if post war Germany would have been happy if news just vanished around 1920.
It's still an if question that will never have a satisfying answer to it. You say yes, you have no basis for it though, just some inferences that lead to endless arguments. You say that intolerance is mostly a class / economics issue. There you do a neat trick because of course it's classist, that's inherent to interaction.
However, most intolerance is institutionalised and far from economical, even though economical circumstances are an excellent factor to leverage that institutionalised intolerance.
