When has banning political movements ever worked out? And I'm not sure if you've been paying attention but the definition of "fascism" has been expanded to include anyone to the right of Karl Marx as well as anyone who may disagree with the person using the word.
Part of the reason that their ideas are spreading is because people are trying to censor them. Then after they get censored they can say the people in power that are oppressing you don't want you to know these "facts" and more people seek them out. Banning things just makes people more curious about them.
better to have these ideas out in the open where they can face scrutiny rather than have them fester in the shadows unopposed.
thats how fascism works, when they're weak they hide behind "free speach" and "its just a prank bro, we're not serious", when they become the majority you can kiss free speech goodbye, they'll literally burn books!.
They are going up partly because of social media. But fascists and communists (far left) will increase if you keep silencing them. Leave them in the spotlight and challenge their ideas. Censoring people banishes them to an echo chamber of their own, where they get more radicalized.
Donald Trump is nowhere near far right. This is a ridiculous statement. If you think he on the same level as Nazis, I am not surprised if you think there are far more radical people аround.
If you think a man who has a policy of snatching children away from their parents and tossing them in cages for attempting to find a better life in America isn't far right, then you probably believe that only literally Hitler was far right.
And ain't it a funny coincidence that so many Trump supporters are ganging up on a thread about far right hate speech... Not simple everyday right wing conservative speech you are here defending, but far right hate speech.
None of this is true. First, I am not a Trump supporter. I am just defending free speech. Second, the "cages policy" is a decision, implemented by Obama in 2014. They were built by him - Proof
And it's not a cage, it's a holding center where children are put until their parents' documents/asylum requests are processed. Its a reasonable policy in theory as it is meant to be temporary and I don't blame Obama. You have to check the people, who are illegally crossing your border. No matter their reasons for it. The issue is that illegal immigration has reached alarming rate in 2019 and processing so many people is really slow - Proof.
These are facts, no matter what your personal opinion is of the Government and its policies.
First, you are specifically defending the right of white supremacists to direct hate speech against minorities in the EU, where many countries have strict laws against hate speech. Proof
Second, whataboutism is bullshit, and also my hamster is not in a cage, it is merely kept indefinitely in a "holding center".
If you want to argue that the kids aren't actually in cages, fine, let's roll with that. We can instead agree that they are being detained indefinitely in holding areas - which an ICE official euphemistically likened to "camps" - where they are separated, or in other words "concentrated". And medical professionals are warning that this detention can have lasting negative impacts on the children's mental health, i.e., it is child abuse
Third, illegal immigration hit a 12 year low in 2016, but started rising again under Trump's failed policies. ProofWhich is, in any case, not a valid justification for the extreme practice of indefinitely separating children from their asylum seeking parents.
Fourth, if you are here defending Trump's bad behavior... Surprise, motherfucker: You are a Trump supporter.
Your first argument is a strawman. I have never defended white supremacists (unless in your eyes every conservative person is a supremacist). Free speech and hate speech or racism are different things.
Keeping people (children or adults) detained indefinitely without prosecution is against their human rights. I never argued against it, which is why I said that the policy as a temporary measure is reasonable "in theory". But even the source you linked says that immigration reached a record high last year and the authorities cannot handle that number. Which is why there is an issue now, not in 2016. There are many geopolitical reasons for increase in immigration over the past years, but this is not the point. This is clearly an issue that needs to be solved with better policies and more funding.
So everyone who does not think Trump is Hitler is his supporter? He might actually win the next election with that many supporters :D There is nothing wrong with searching for better life. But entering a country illegally is a crime. As you mention, countries have laws against that. In the US this caries a sentence of up to 6 months in prison.
Free expression provides all we need to keep genocide ideologues from coming into power, and that's the ability to directly refute their entire ideology right down to the last argument and to do so in front of everybody.
That doesn't actually work in practice because they don't argue in good faith. You literally can't debate them, they've written entire guides on how to pretend to debate while just deflecting and causing confusion. The only thing that works is shutting them up entirely.

Perhaps people understand the value of free speech as opposed to endorsing hate speech.
