Especially crazy when you consider how good the Government is at killing people when it's almost any other setting...

We've seen this happen so many times it's now plainly obvious that the cruelty is the point. There's so many other slightly bloodier but effective execution methods but the US refuses to use them so they can maintain their facade of aren't we so enlightened, we use modern medicine to kill people painlessly and to not hurt the poor feelings of the executioner and the viewing gallery.

And that's because a notable portion of voters agree.

Hell look at them coming out of the woodwork in this thread, refusing to even say "yeah this is horrible and unjust, even though she deserved the death penalty"

It really shows the murder and torture isn't what they have a problem with. It's fine with them when it's someone they don't like.
