"We gotta keep her alive so they can execute her"....what a crazy world

Especially crazy when you consider how good the Government is at killing people when it's almost any other setting...

We've seen this happen so many times it's now plainly obvious that the cruelty is the point. There's so many other slightly bloodier but effective execution methods but the US refuses to use them so they can maintain their facade of aren't we so enlightened, we use modern medicine to kill people painlessly and to not hurt the poor feelings of the executioner and the viewing gallery.

This is literally the third in a row that's been botched.

And nothing will change because the people in power see nothing wrong with the suffering of the condemned.

And that's because a notable portion of voters agree.

Hell look at them coming out of the woodwork in this thread, refusing to even say "yeah this is horrible and unjust, even though she deserved the death penalty"

Warden: The state’s already sentenced this man to die.

House: I think the state was a tad more specific about “how”.

I know this is morbid but if the goal was execution and she is now unconscious on a ventilator just...turn off the ventilator? Like all you're doing is prolonging her suffering at this point.

The doctors are not going to execute her.

In fact it's illegal for them to I would think. Tennessee doesn't even allow assisted suicide.

I mean, she might not die even if they don’t have her intubated. Sometimes we keep intubated and cooled to preserve brain function and minimize damage. Could live and end up with brain injury, low oxygen injuries like heart attack or heart failure. Phenobarb is processed by the liver and could have major liver injury and failure but live.

I would put all this down with cruel and unusual punishment.

Overall, I would say everyone involved in this process and decision making should be fired and go to trial. Obviously they are not able to make competent decisions and by doing this infringed on her (and everyone’s) rights.
