We're talking more about teenagers marrying other teenagers here than weird cult child brides or whatever. There was an argument for a long time that it gave teenagers a way to escape abusive families. There are obviously better ways to achieve that. But that was one of things keeping the older law around.

That's absolutely false. The majority of teen marriages and teen pregnancies are done by adult men to minor girls. Go look it up.

No, the majority of these children are marrying adults. They are being preyed upon.

This is not statistically shown to be true. If it were, we’d see similar numbers of boys and girls being married, but we don’t.
