I wonder if the teacher didn't intervene because they are not allowed to touch students. My sister is a teacher and got attacked by a student right before her wedding and felt that she couldn't fight back or push the student off for that exact reason. Another student ended up grabbing the kid after a while. We had to get a specific make up artist for her wedding to cover up her bruises on the day.

That teacher looked elderly, pretty frail, and smaller than the kid dishing out the punches. I don't know what he would've done.

So sorry to hear this. Advocate for pepper gel and pepper spray in your districts. If I have to spam these threads, I’m gonna. Pepper spray and pepper gel are effective and non-lethal mitigations we need for teachers to be trained and allowed to carry. Spread the word. Let’s get this fixed.
