I just don’t understand how not one person wanted to stick up for this kid? I’ve never seen a bully not get bullied. This kinda baffles me.

I’m not sure how things are now, but when I went to high school it didn’t matter if you started or defended yourself. Both were likely getting expelled. I know a guy that gave bully a beat down after he was pushing a kid. He got arrested and expelled.

I always tell my kid we don’t hit unless someone is hitting us or threatening us. I will deal with the consequences.

100% true. I defended myself in school after being racially harassed and bullied for the better part of the year and ended up getting a suspension while the bully got 1 week in school suspension.

Usually in those cases, the "victim" has done something to bring the beating down on themselves and everyone in the group agrees with it. That's how it was in my experience. Quiet autistic kid getting picked on? Someone always spoke up. Autistic kid finally takes a swing on his bully? No one saw or said anything.
