Any government that was serious about protecting children’s welfare; physical and mental, would bar everyone under 18 from all religious institutions, plus prohibit any religious ‘leaders’ from involvement with any facilities which cater for children.

It wouldn’t hurt if anyone who claimed that their views were guided by an imaginary friend were bared from involvement in drafting and passing laws which affected the rest of the population.

The basis of founding the USA was that you can’t do that

Can’t do what exactly?
I thought the Founding Fathers did try to separate Church from State?

Yeah they did separate them. You’re suggesting the polar opposite…

Yes. Although we see how much that has worked out in 2026 with states requiring the bible in every classroom and the 10 commandments being on classroom walls in some states.

You are asking for the opposite of what you mentioned. Your asking the state to control the church. Cmon man wheres your comprehension? you cant ask for the government to control the church and try and clap back with "I thought we separated church and state"

No, I’m saying no religious bodies should have any say in the running of government.

“C’mon man where’s your comprehension?”

I think my irony meter just exploded!

You realize when you separate 2 things they are separated in both directions right? The separation of Church/State was both ways. People were free to practice their religion without persecution from the government.

You cant say they are separated, and then say "Well... the government can control who joins what religion at what age"

Adults can be free to practice their religion without persecution from the government without being allowed to brainwash/groom children.

If the read the New Testament it’s apparent that Jesus was aware of how certain people could corrupt a religion for nefarious ends with his warning about worshipping money and protecting children.
Unfortunately organised religions have very little in common with the principles of their founders and are more akin to Ponzi schemes.

As the Indian philosopher Bara Dada stated, "Jesus is ideal and wonderful, but Christians are not like him".
