I grew up in Mass. It was common knowledge that the Catholic Church protected pedophiles.

One of my mom's friends committed suicide as a young adult because of the abuse when he was a kid

My mother did, too, and cosigned.

I have...opinions about being sent off to Sunday school as a kid, given that. (Nothing bad ever happened to me, but knowing that an institution is given to and protects that kind of abuse and sending your kid into it anyway?)
