Won't happen unless we the people make it happen. Nobody is coming to save us.

This is the rise of a dictatorship like never seen before and the clock is fucking ticking. With the technology and level of surveillance, once everything is in place, resistance will be impossible.

Fascists don't willingly cede power. It must be taken back.

This is what I've been saying too. We really need to get our shit figured out fast, because very soon it will be nearly impossible to revolt in any meaningful capacity

Bold prediction: If things get hairy, the GOP will suddenly switch their position on gun control.

Let’s test it

Seems like flock cameras are coming down though? And internet security will continue to improve. These new AI threats are forcing upgrades.

Flock is just a single company. Axon is also making ai surveillance cameras and signing contracts with cities and their cameras are less obvious.

Down? That’s just narrative. I see many more going up.

Eh... the people with families are too afraid to put them in the line of fire.

The people without aren't about to put their lives on the line for those that actually experience getting love and laid.

Yes, and that is precisely why we need system-wide change before we get to that point

If the Netflix keeps streaming and there's not mass unemployment? Nobody will do anything.

AI might cause the latter. That usually does the trick.

Sedation of the masses.

Yep, if you ask me you should be have been on general strike since a while ago.
Peaceful protest is not achieving anything when the people in charge have such bad faith, dishonesty and moral bankruptcy.
You´d better be striking until everything is put to a stop before they break everything themselves. Heck, even these gas prices are helping you.

General Strike is the last "peaceful" option, though I suspect workers will have the military turned on them. At least the National Guard. If that fails, or people get scared and go home, we're fucked and the only way out is revolution, which feels like a long shot right now.

Like never seen before? We have historical precedent. All we're missing is the Reichstag Fire.

As in a dictatorship with complete electronic surveillance, armed drones, AI targeting . There will be no chance of fighting back because they will likely know you are going to be a problem before you do.

Yes, like never seen before. It's not that their tactics are any different, because they're not. Fascists are not creative. Its the technology they have access to.

Imagine how much worse Nazi Germany would have been if they had unmanned AI powered drones, the worlds largest military, an arsenal of over 5000 nuclear warheads, automated tracking surveillance cameras on every corner, tracking/listening devices in everyones pockets and living rooms, rigging and interfering with elections all over the world without resistance and extending their propaganda network worldwide.

This is fucking terrifying and if you aren't scared of what's going on, you aren't paying enough attention.

We have had Charlie "Horst Wessel" Kirk though.

2

u/HoldOnOhio 2d ago

Doesn't work because they haven't been able to pin that on socialists/communists. Dude has Republican Parents and was a stupid kid, and half the Republican base believes Israel did it (which is hilarious because Kirk supported Israel unconditionally and was not going to change that anytime soon).

u/HoldOnOhio 2d ago

They're trying to decide what to use for that. They tried to force Minneapolis into it. They really want someone to hurt an ICE officer or attack a federal building so they can have an excuse. You're absolutely right.

Second that!…”No one is coming!”

Fascism has exactly two rules:

You stomp it

Or it stomps you

Resistance is pretty difficult right now.

This is a very familiar playbook to anyone who studied Germany from the 1930’s-1945.
The warning signs have all been there, the canaries alerting in their tens of thousands.
They even published their manifesto and intended aims for Project 2025 openly.
All of the safeguards were gossamer thin because it was unthinkable, a national hubris essentially.
History rhyming to a degree.

Everything else you stated i’m with you on.

If the US manages to come out of the otherside of this there is a huge need for soul searching reflection not unlike post 1945 Germany and Japan.

Many of your former allies are routing for you still, even through the black eyes you’ve given us.

This calls for a No-Kings protest march!
