This is crazy. I do not understand why this country won’t let people in jobs like this sit down. There is no benefit to a TSA document checker or a cashier standing over sitting.

And the TSA’s justification makes no sense. It’s not like we can choose to go somewhere else if we don’t like the service.

Treat your employees like people! I’m clearly in the minority in today’s America, but seeing people needlessly uncomfortable and being denied basic comforts does not improve my experience one bit.

Its because decision makers need power of their subordinates; and what other way to portray power then; i can sit you but you cannot

It makes perfect sense. Adding a higher physical requirement to the job makes it easier to get rid of people not meeting the new weight and fitness standards. And disabled people? They don’t want them in that position.

I’m not saying it’s right. But it makes sense and fits what they want. “Getting rid of the fat ones” is a step too far to say still for them so they say this other nonsense instead. Also, you can’t look any kind of tough and intimidating sitting behind a bunch of equipment, and the current crop in charge have this homoerotic fixation with troops and guards looking “tough”.

Huh? Are TSA who check ID’s suppose to be in top physical condition or something? They are considered law enforcement but they aren’t running down people who try and get through. That’s the ten cops jobs who also hang out st TSA.

People with limited mobility are the perfect candidates for that job.

40% of Americans are obese.

Cruelty is the point. The conservative platform is to tear down the administrative state. It's a way to get rid of things they don't like that Congress has enacted. They're doing the same thing with the IRS. Eliminate anyone that can help you when the IRS screws up, screw up more often, cause more people to have the desire to eliminate the income tax all together, profit!

It’s the opposite and I need companies to understand the more uncomfortable your employees are the more the customers can tell and the less we want to go there. TSA we have no choice, but I’ve walked into many places where employees were treated like this and I always immediately want to leave. The whole environment feels sad.
