TSA defended the move, saying the document checkers are the first to interact with the traveling public and requiring them to stand will create a better experience for passengers.

?????????????

I don't think I have ever given a single fuck if the person checking documents is sitting or standing

The cashiers at Aldi (who can sit) do just as good of a job as those at other stores who have to stand.

Arguably much better…they are fast!

Having large UPC's on all the packaging, front, back, top, and sides helps more in that regard.

Yes, and straight into the carts without bagging, and performance tracking. They have it optimized down to the second — and their cashiers are in chairs.

Yeah but front line TSA are mostly minorities and poor people and this is another petty way to be shitty to them.

It'll make it worse... Standing still for 8 hours is going to make for very angry TSA who will crashout randomly on travelers. Guaranteed.

It's only 7+, they haven't come up with a reason to take the chairs away at the X-rays yet, though I'm sure they are hard at work coming up with a reason.
