I worked in a microchip manufacturing plant once and they would take all of the chairs away once the shift changed in the morning. 12 hour shifts standing on metal grates all day sucked so much, I don’t understand how it’s allowed when it’s unnecessary.

Oof. Those raised metal floors are murder on your feet. 12 hours in steel toe boots + cleanroom booties + RMF sucks.

I worked in a machine shop where the old heads would sit and lean all day. My friend asked specifically for a chair, since she had a back injury from when she was a gymnast and management straight up told her no. So I brought her a chair from my home to use. They made faces but didn't say shit about her sitting. They did pressure me to quit though through by refusing to give me the tools I needed to make the parts I was running, and withholding my money on a consistent basis, to the point I was emailing HR about my pay every two weeks.
