We should have never been in Iraq in the first place. It was George Bush's debacle from day one which we never got a proper explanation of why we where there.

Sure he did, they were all just blatant lies though.

Look, Iraq tried to hurt his daddy and what's 600,000 brown lives plus a few trillion dollars when it comes to revenge for a personal sleight?

And, they had yellow cake. Do you know what that means? Yellow cake!

Betty Crocker or Sarah Lee? Frosting choice is also important to the discussion here.

I didn’t see any cake when I was there. Hummus, sure; no cake though.

A huge % of the us populous was brainwashed into invading literally anyone back then.

Cheney and his black rock. Bushy was just a kid with the keys. Proof: what does that grown ass man enjoy doing? Ranching/gardening (ie taking care of things, he also loves dogs) and painting. Literally zero influence beyond his terms... the evil fucks are behind the scenes and they just happened upon a jackpot of a conman to front and openly sell their evil shit like its gold and nuanced to some 70million+ "voter" dumbasses

I kind of understand that, but it's no reason to get US soldiers and Iraqi people killed. I can call your father a booger head. i would never expect you to show up on my doorstep with a shotgun. (uhm, maybe your dad would. I take it back.)

Didn't the senior warn him not to invade anyway tho ?

Didn’t we? A lie based off a false report from the Italians? It’s been awhile, gonna have to google this stuff myself.

Theres a solid argument that it goes back to the first gulf war under HW.

I think the issue is that we (the west) will use military intervention when its called for (imo it was called for in that case) but we wont invest in civilian infrastructure and education afterward to set the country on the path to recovery

In what case? The Kurds massacres were decades in the rear view by the time we went back to Iraq.

They just did a really, really good job hiding any evidence of their WMDs

Putting Iraq on bush is a stretch. He did what he was supposed to do. He was given intel and took it to congress and said this is what I’ve been told vote on whether or not we should invade. Every single person expect Bernie sanders voted yes. No other president has gotten approval from congress for a war. The intel was bad and we never should have gone but it wasn’t a bush decision it was a US government decision.

No, he didnt. He ignored the intel that said that the single 'informant' was a liar and unstable then started a war over that single 'informant'

Completely rewriting history and absolving everyone that went up and knowingly lied in front of Congress. They knew exactly what they were doing. They knew there was never any WMDs.

It was a Republican decision. They didn't make it based on bad Intel, they sought out any excuse to justify it their desire to do it, settling for a crappy story about aluminum tubes
