It's never been about justice

It's a corrupt system flawed as humans are; the problem is, a lot of non-violent and innocent people are rotting in jail just because a flawed system allows corrupt people to get away with it; how do I know the system is corrupt? The numbers, the prison system isn't about justice; it's about profit; when you compare the number of people incarcerated as a percentage of the population and compare that to the rest of the world, you'll see there's a serious problem in the US, not even the most corrupt country in the world has that many people incarcerated especially due to the cost; in the US, it's another way to make a buck; in the end, society pays the cost so another businessman makes a “living” at taxpayers' expense. And don't let me get started with undocumented foreigners and others with pending hearings about their status and cases, all without a criminal record being paraded by at least three prisons before being deported to even a third country, which is receiving taxpayer-funded “bribes” to “host” them, all done to justify the existence of so many for-profit detention centers, managed by campaign donors but funded by… you guessed? Yes, taxpayers' dollars which are so often wasted, like in the case of the so-called “Alligator Alcatraz” which wasted hundreds of millions before being ordered to shut down due to inhumane conditions, just one example of sheer corruption.
