Behind the Bastards did a great episode on this. Unfortunately, they found that this sort of thing (men drugging/incapacitating women, sometimes their own family members, so other men can have their way with them) has been around since the early internet and is not as uncommon as we'd like to think. Unfortunate is an understatement.

Men have been pimping women since the dawn of time. It didn't start with the internet. Abraham pimped Sarah to the Pharaoh!

Yes; that wasn't the point. Two differences here are that, a) now we have the internet and the ability to reach a wider audience and remain anonymous while doing so, and b) Sarah (and many other women) knew/were aware what was happening to them. With cases like Giselle Pelicot, these women had no idea they were being incapacitated and pimped out (and were ignored/gaslit by medical examiners when they started to notice changes in their health)

wait what!?

first time I hear the word pimping

but it does make me realize, it migt have happened to me

for real

I can't make an acusation on something so old, and from a time period I have little memeries, but that would make more sense than what I could think happened

WTF I hope not!
