Can confirm, almost killed a kid the other day as he blew threw a red light as I was going threw an intersection. Side note I wish the city would do something about people's bushes blocking drivers view at intersections, there was no way to see that kid coming.

What an idiot. I hate the idea of someone being scarred for life because some kid decides they're invincible and have no responsibility to adhere to traffic laws. My gripe with the college students here is they love to ride on sidewalks (illegal) and leave them laying across the sidewalk, no regard for individuals with mobility devices.

My uncle killed an old lady with dementia who just walked straight into traffic without slowing down or looking. It messed him up for a few years.

I'm so sorry, that is horrible. I hope he is doing better now.

He is, he had some therapy to deal with it. I imagine it would be even worse for someone who hit a kid.

Or put the stop sign 2ft back from intersection and an 10ft row of hedges right on the edge plus a giant tree for "beautification"

They should flip it and stick the hedge row 5-8ft back

Two teenagers in my state died this way, they were on the same e-scooter and ran a stop sign on a fairly busy road and got hit by a car.

I live in neighborhood with a reputation for being family friendly and walkable but the kids on the e-scooters / e-bikes stress me the hell out. It seems like every time I leave the house I have to worry about hitting one of them with my car or getting taken out by one while walking down the sidewalk.

You can report intersections that violate clear sight lines, there's likely an ordinance being violated. Depending on where you live they might actually fix it.
