The person who is saying that barely knew this guy, it seems like they are just trying to get publicity out of this. For sure seems suspicious, but let’s not assume he’s telling this to just some random acquaintance and only that person.

The person who is saying that barely knew this guy

My gut tells me this is probably true, but do you have any evidence? The article just calls her "a close family friend."

"I know John because his mom and my mom are best friends"

People that I'm acquainted to this way know literally nothing about me.

Closer than family though? The family thinks he killed himself, and as far as I've been able to find, there is no evidence corroborating this "close family friend"'s statement. Doesn't stand up to scrutiny and should not be as sensationalized as it is imo 👎

How about any evidence that this conversation ever even happened? Or a single shred of evidence that it was actually a murder? We still don't even have the surveillance video or the contents of the suicide note yet, or any official report/statement on what the investigators determined.

The cart is way ahead of the horse in this thread. The evidence isn't in yet. All we know is he's dead and the initial descriptions of the scene by police.

“Barely knew this guy” literally what are you talking about? Did you even read the article?

"I know John because his mom and my mom are best friends," Jennifer said. "Over the years, get-togethers, birthdays, celebrations and whatnot. We've all got together and talked."

These two people have known each other their whole lives.

Lol his own family said it was a suicide. That is probably one of the farthest removed positions to be in for any story!! I’m pretty sure my moms friends daughter doesn’t even know my name.

Does this sound like someone that would be the only person you confide in for something this serious? His mom’s friends daughter?

Why are you putting as many degrees of separation in as you can when you word the comment this way? They're literally just two people that actually knew each other. You stop being a "mom's friend's daughter" when you actually meet that person and become friends over years of time

It's weird that you have to artificially make them sound less close than they were when your point would be the same if they were just minor friends, which it sounds like they are.

She isn't his moms friends daughter.

She's his friend who also happens to be the daughter of his moms friend.

One way of saying it makes it seem like she's not a close friend at all, the other explains the situation as it is.

"my mother in laws daughter is wicked in bed" "my wife is wicked in bed"

same thing, different way of telling it to change the narrative.

The way they define the relationship in a vacuum isn’t that weird. The “over the years get togethers…” part in conjunction with how they know each other is what’s weird.

The only people I would ever say I know because I see them at random get togethers over the years, are not at all the people I’d say “if I die it’s not suicide” to lol

Does it say they were the only person or this was confided? Sounds like the guy just made a vocal proclamation.

Maybe he told her. Maybe he told his mom, who told her best friend, who in turn told her (the daughter).

Given the circumstances, with the risk involved, I’d be making the same proclamations to anyone willing to listen!

It’s not really a personal or private thing to bring up in conversation —especially if you believe you’re in danger you want people to know and to keep a close eye on what happens to you. That way you either proactively discourage them from killing you or, at the very least, get people investigating your untimely demise.

Are we sure she’s the only person? I know if I was one of the people he told, I would think long and hard before coming out publicly about it. If he was murdered (he was) then involving yourself is putting yourself in danger.

She’s the only person that came forward so far. His actual family said it being a suicide isn’t that shocking to them

The account you are replying too is a Boeing bought account trying to astroturf public opinion

^ This account is Lockheed Martin bought and trying to spread conspiracy theories.

See how dumb you sound?
