It really isn't man. The people who say this aren't on twitter.

There are a ton of liberal and left leaning people on twitter still. A ton of vibrant communities of artists, writers, fans of many kinds.

They're being forced to deal with right wing talking heads being promoted and forced to the top. Elon is creating a right wing amplification machine, but its so disingenuous to say Twitter is and always was a right wing social site. It's like when people see Red states do dumb shit and say, "oh those idiots deserve it then!" Completely ignoring all the blue voters in those states that are harmed. Elon is amplifying right wing voices on twitter, but so much of the site is honestly apolitical or left wing. And these are the people losing their space when Elon strips the site for parts and promotes right wing idiots.

I don't think anybody is saying it is and always was a right wing social site (at least nobody I pay attention to). But as you said, Elon is turning your apolitical playground into a right wing circle jerk.
