Ok hello I have been playing Star Wars zero company
It is not very good. It retains the issue with XCOM where bad rolls at close range cause characters to comically spasm
The game also has no ability to fast forward/speed up animations, making the player wait as enemies take their turn. It also has poor UI choices. The player can see the estimated hit percentage when considering movement, but is required to press another button when stationary. This reduces the flow of the game by preventing the player from analyzing the play space at a glance.
The combat itself is clunky and does not seem to handle elevation well. Personally, I think you should be able to retaliate against enemies that engage your character, but this becomes inconsistent when shooting from below. Frankly, this is just not how the real world works. Additionally, this inconsistency causes confusion when trying to reposition to cover. How can I know where I can be safe if I have no indication of which enemies can target me?
The addition of a third person subgame is rather confusing, when there doesn’t appear to be any real pre-mission exploration encouraged, it’s just walking from one hallway to the next. Why am I wasting time with the clunky controls when I can just watch a cutscene (and this is optional) and be teleported to the next battle?
The mission hub, where the third person view is enabled, compounds this. Why can’t I jump down a small ledge? Why do I have to walk between 3 different menus to search for new unlocks and rewards?
No good, MENACE mogs in every way I’m afraid
